My Date with Dodge - March to Texas High School State Championship

I am the kind of person that enjoys watching people that are phenomenal at what they do. It can be any field. One of the first experts I saw and studied was the Valley View Elementary principal, Jennifer Dusek. Another was actually Crockett's orthodontist, Kunik. Watching these people operate at incredibly high levels was mesmerizing for me, the fly on the wall. And I knew when Dodge announced his retirement that I had one season to watch the man in action

My Hero - Carrie Bobb

Big welcome to Kelly Cloud and Kate Rhodes. This is more than adding Brokers to our Company Roster - this is DeLea putting her money where her mouth is. …..

Carrie Bobb is my HERO :

#1 - I love this person. She is my Hero.

#2 - What the What? What kind of man goes to all this crazy PREMEDIATED EFFORT to do this? And then to the company doesn’t quickly Do The Right Thing?

#3 - This is Horse Shit and I am pissed.

#4 - I’ve got to go create a place that is safe for Women in Commercial Real Estate Brokerage. Not only in my Company Policy & Employee/Contractor Agreements but boots on the ground. I need to hire women, seek them out, give them a safe place at Beck-Reit. Safe from that horse shit. Women have enough to deal with keeping themselves safe from harm, they shouldn’t have to worry about it coming from their bosses. I can’t save all the women, but I can take it one “Woman Hire At a Time”.

Congratulations to Dick Clark & Associates - 2120 E 7th St Wins Austin Business Journal 2021 CRE Award for BEST OFFICE REHAB!

It started when DeLea and Mark met for the 1st time for breakfast at Chumikals in 2017 (a favorite East Austin Joint for both) and the breakfast stretched into lunch. A couple of days later the property was toured and under contract - the rest is Award-Winning History!

The inspiring architects at Dick Clark & Associates have been rightfully recognized for their incredible office design at 2120 E 7th St - winning the Austin Business Journal’s 2021 CRE award for Best Office Rehab.

Originally an 80s pawnshop, 2120 E 7th was built like a concrete bunker with just one window and no insulation or even air conditioning for most of the space. DCA’s ground up design and construction has transformed the site into an eye-catching functional space perfect for creative office and retail needs.

'Black Artists Matter' mural painted in the heart of historic East Austin neighborhood

East Austin:

In many ways, development has displaced the cultural arts traditions of East Austin, long the home of the city’s Black community. Now, its champions — Black artists, creatives and community leaders — are working to restore that soul.

Capitol View Arts and the Austin Justice Coalition, with support from local artists and dozens of volunteers from the Austin area, painted a ‘Black Artists Matter’ mural on East 11th Street the morning of Thursday, June 18 2021. #BlackArtistMatter

Ann Richards - My Idol

Ann Richards is my idol + 45th Governor of Texas. Shortly before I moved to the Capitol of Texas in 1993 Ann Richards had become the Governor of Texas. It is a big deal when any Woman reaches a Position Of Power, it is an enormously BIG DEAL when a Woman takes the most Powerful Seat in a Red State that has long been run by men.
