Waterloo Park: East Austin Park Set to Open Spring 2021

The larger Waterloo Greenway project is being opened in phases, the first of which is Waterloo Park located between E 12th and. E 15th along Trinity Street. The 11-acre park will will feature, “spaces that reflect the landscapes of Austin and Central Texas, including hill country gardens with oaks and native plantings, wetland spaces that create places for play and relaxation, expansive lawns for gathering and activities, and more than a mile and a half of trails within the park.” It will also house the Moody outdoor amphitheater, with a max capacity of 5,000 people.

The project is 8 years in the making, and we’re thrilled to see this phase of the greenway come to fruition. Bringing more community-oriented and public greenspace to our city is a proven catalyst for higher quality of life. Ultimately, the Waterloo Greenway will stretch a mile and a half covering 35 acres and tying in to the Lady Bird Lake hike and bike path.
